This private chromosomal microarray blood test scans the entire genome at high resolution for sub-microscopic chromosomal deletions and duplications (copy number variants). The catalogue test price is £970.00 plus a £50 phlebotomy fee, with results in 10 days.
Array CGH detects microdeletions and microduplications that are too small to be seen on a conventional G-banded karyotype.

A standard karyotype examines whole chromosomes under a microscope, whereas Array CGH detects much smaller sub-microscopic DNA gains and losses across the genome.
Array CGH does not detect balanced chromosomal translocations or inversions where no genetic material is gained or lost; a conventional karyotype is used for balanced rearrangements.
No fasting is required. A venous EDTA blood sample is taken at 117a Harley Street.
Results are normally returned in about 10 working days.
