It suits women with a defined hormone or cycle question who have been advised when in their cycle to test.
Cycle days 2 to 5 are usually preferred where cycle assessment is the goal. Clinical guidance takes priority, so follow any timing your doctor has given.
Hormone results vary with cycle timing, medicines and life stage, so note the date of your last period when you book.
This blood test is not a diagnosis on its own and is best read by a doctor alongside your symptoms.

The best day to test depends on the question being asked. Where the aim is to look at how the ovaries are working across a cycle, a sample on days 2 to 5 is usually preferred, counting the first day of bleeding as day 1.
For other questions, such as irregular or absent periods, your clinician may ask for a different day or a sample on any day. Hormonal contraception and HRT can change these results, so tell us if you take them. Always follow the instructions of the clinician who asked for the test.
You receive the laboratory report, and you can add a phone or in-person doctor review for £75 to go through it. These results do not on their own diagnose the menopause or predict fertility.
